Roberts Ranch Restoration
Roberts Ranch is representative of Collier County’s historic roots in Cattle Ranching. For over half a century the Roberts Ranch played a significant role in Florida’s cattle history. PBS was chosen for the Roberts Ranch restoration including restoration of 18 original buildings along with the home renovation.
The home part of the restoration was actually occupied until the 1980’s. The Collier County Museum acquired the property and chose PBS to restore the ranch’s 18 original buildings, along with the home renovation.
The top priority of the Roberts Ranch restoration was maintaining historical accuracy. Fortunately, PBS discovered lumber stored in the barn and tractor shed that was salvage and restored. This lumber was used in the re-creation of the Cowboy Bunkhouse – 80% of which was destroyed by fire. Other buildings required cosmetic restoration where PBS was able to salvage the original lumber, mill it, and reuse it.
